19 people are accused in connection with the Mukono Boda Mob Lynching Case.
A group of 19 persons were brought before the Mukono magistrate's court and charged with murder after it was alleged that they killed four suspects in connection with boda boda robbery by taking the law into their own hands.
Under strict security, the suspects were taken from the Mukono police division custody and presented before the court.
They were charged with murder for the deaths of Abdallah Ssemujju, Junior Masiga, Wafula Moses, and Sanya Denis, who were all severely burned.
The group was informed by trial magistrate Peace Lamunu that they were unable to accept a plea since the matter was capital in nature and could only be tried by the High Court.
Thus, with the exception of a 16-year-old kid who was transported to the Naguru detention home, they were placed under custody in the Luzira government jail until May 2, 2024.
Mukono leader Margaret Nakavubu requested the police to investigate and prosecute suspected CIM officer Kenneth Mugombesha, since he is the primary suspect in this case.
